deBOCCEry Camp LNT Plan
- We will avoid bringing small trinkets, feather, glass, or anything that can fall off clothing or objects that will leave a trace.
- Our camp has a recycling center that allows for paper burning in community platforms, metal crushing and return of ALL garbage.
- We have a camp guardian (Pug) who makes sure daily that all clean up is happening and nothing hits the ground. We have designated her to make sure the camp stays clean during set-up, during the event and after.
- We plan to set up and break down in minute detail. This is our 9th year and it is almost a shorthand for us now. All of our tools, supplies and gear are cleaned after every return from the playa and stored until August of the next year when we pull them out, check our lists and load it on the trucks to bring to the playa.
- We pledge to leave no trace in our camp or on the playa. We will help our neighbors and the city of Black Rock as well. This ethos extends throughout our travel from Portland to the playa and back.
- We clean as we go.
- All rebar will be removed.
- We don't dig holes.
- We keep all things tied down... shade structures, tents, etc.
- We will pack out everything we bring in... and pick up what others have left behind if we have room. We leave room in 1 vehicle for extra's we bring back from the playa.
- Our clean-up toolbox includes:
- Garbage buckets
- Rebar removal tool
- Magnets
- Extra garbage bags
- Work gloves
- Empty tins for smokers
- Sledgehammers
- Lots of rope
- Lube
WE PROMISE TO LEAVE NO TRACE.
